The Malory Towers series, the central character of which is Darrell Rivers, originally comprised six books published between 1946 and 1951. In Germany, Darrell Rivers became Dolly Rieder and the series was renamed “Dolly” after her. Many other characters also had their names changed. (Click here for a comprehensive overview of the name differences between the English Malory Towers books and their German translations.) An additional 12 “Dolly” continuation novels have been written, and these are detailed below. They were written under the name of Rosemarie von Schach, and many of them were in fact written by Rosemarie Eitzert, who uses the pseudonym Rosemarie von Schach and is also known for the pseudonym Tina Caspari. NB: The “Möwennest” (Malory Nest, but literally “seagull’s nest”) is a college associated with Malory Towers.
